BlackBerry Messenger on Android is ready and successfully launched. However, it does not means that many BBM users on Android do not find out problems. Sometimes the application has a problem with the settings. If it is the first time you open the application, you might get confused. Well it is not difficult actually, so to help you we would like to post about the tips and tricks to use BlackBerry app on Android platform.

Basically in BBM, you have three central tabs that are contacts, chats and also groups. The name banner with profile picture could be seen at the top of it. While on the side, there are three main screens, contact menus slide out as navigatio drawer in Android. For the left screen, it is shortcuts in order to go to sections of the application. Right screen is used for setting or action menu. It could be confusing when these buttons are changing their content, depend on whether you are in the main part of the applciation or in a chat.

The PIN

The iconic features from this messenger is about PIN. It is different from WhatsApp or Line that use telephone number. Sharing your PIN is required to have a chat with your friends.

Editing Your Status

Change your status is possible here. Create status or indicates that you are busy or available. Add emoticons also possible.

How to Hide the Action Bar

Hiding the action bar will make you easier to see the chat. You can easily uninstall it. Go to main app window and tap the action button in the right bottom corner. Tap settings and scroll down. Switch off “Show Action Bar with Keyboard.”

Add Contacts

To add contact, go to menu button and choose “Invite to BBM” to bring more options in order to add people such as scan code, SMS, NFC and also email.

Contact View

Change the view is easy. Go to settings – the action overflow menu button – scroll down to see the contact section.

Go settings to block contacts or to setting BBM notification LED.

Managing Notifications

Manage notification if you do not want to see them. Go to setting and turn off all notifications. It is a hidden settings in BBM.
