Amy Jeffries walks around the world ears first, which is how she landed a job as a reporter and producer at WNPR in Hartford, where she worked for five years. While at WNPR, she covered Connecticut's civil union bill from inception to passage and spent six weeks covering the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita on special assignment for NPR. While pursuing a Master of Journalism degree at the University of California, Berkeley she’s learned to juggle a flash recorder, 35mm film camera, and a laptop for stories in print and online. Her reporting has taken her to China, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and now, as a News21 fellow, Ohio.

Amy reported on the economy and politics from Ohio. She was the design editor for the American Dream web site.
