Carlyn Reichel
Carlyn Reichel is a journalistic neophyte and a second-year student at the Harvard Kennedy School working on her Master’s degree in Public Policy. At Kennedy, she has been a senior editor and contributor to the Kennedy School Review, and is involved with the Shorenstein Center on Press, Politics and Public Policy as well as the Women and Public Policy Program. This year she will be the opinions editor for the school’s paper, The Citizen. Prior to graduate school, Reichel worked in public relations in Washington, DC, for a wide variety of government, non-profit and private entities. Her areas of interest include, but are not limited to, political machinations, 20th century literature, the Early Republic, karaoke night and trapeze arts. Originally from the great state of Georgia, Reichel graduated with honors from Stanford University in 2005, receiving her BA in American Studies with a minor in Communication.
Reichel collaborated with Cynthia Dizikes and Drew Himmelstein on the suite of stories from Minnesota on Middle Class Values. She also wrote the essay and explainer text for the Trade-offs Calculator.
